**Gypsy Jazz Guitar, an Introduction: George Cole and Mathias Minquet

GEORGE COLE: Featured in the January 2017 issue of Guitar Player Magazine, Acoustic Disc recording artist George COle is a musician whose career reads like a Hall of Flame plaque. Current guitarist for David Grisman, he also taught Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees and long-time friends Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt of Green Day for 10 years. George has toured with Joe Walsh of The Eagles on his Anthology Tour, recorded with Chris Isaak on his platinum selling "Forever Blue" CD and sang duets with jazz legend Keeley Smith.

MATHIAS MINQUET has played as a sideman with Enrique Iglesias, the Pussycat Dolls, Shadmehr Aghili and George Cole. He is now based in Los Angeles where he plays Broadway shows and works as a session guitarist.

**Strings Workshop with Mads Tolling and Kaeli Earle

Jazz-violinist Mads Tolling will focus on specific techniques that are related to groove and how these techniques and textures can be used in a wide variety of genres including Latin, jazz, and folk music. Participants will have an opportunity to bring their instruments. The workshop will end with playing a few easy tunes. All instruments and ages are welcome.


MADS TOLLING is an internationally renowned violinist and composer originally from Copenhagen, Denmark. As a former member of the celebrated Turtle Island Quartet, he won two Grammy Awards for Best Classical Crossover album, and was nominated for a third Grammy this year.

KAELI EARLE has worked as a jazz bassist, a hip hop bassist, a vocalist of all stripes and a writer. She currently resides in Boston where she attends Berklee college of music, records, and writes songs for her jazz trio based in Bellingham, WA.
