Do you love the music of Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Son House, Skip James, Blind Blake, Eric Clapton and Keb Mo? This class will teach you the fundamentals of acoustic blues guitar. We'll cover topics including: learning a 12 bar blues, slide guitar, open D and G tunings, and fingerstyle blues.

*Participants should know basic first position chords; beyond that, all you'll need is a love of blues, and, oh yeah, a slide!

Pete Madsen is a teacher, writer, guitarist and performer based in Berkeley, California. He has written numerous lessons for Acoustic Guitar and Play Guitar magazines; and is the author of "FretMaster: Slide Guitar" and the "Fretmaster: Funk Book," both published by Backbeat books; as well as "A Guide to Acoustic Blues Guitar" and "The CAGED System for Guitar."
