Join Berkeley's own traditional and topical folk artist
extraordinaire Carol Denney for an enlightening evening of quick wit and invigorating tunes! Tonight the spotlight is on Carol's new CD, A Toast to the Union.

Equally facile on guitar, fiddle, and English concertina, Carol has crafted an inimitable style with her songs of love, joy, and political struggle, delivered in one of the strongest voices to be heard among musicians in the Bay Area. The much-awarded artist and Fiddlers for Peace founder has a wide range of honors to her name. Named Best Solo Performer in the 2002 East Bay Express' readers' poll, Carol was honored by the City of Berkeley's Commission on the Status of Women for civil liberties activism in 2003 and by the City of Berkeley for homeless advocacy in 2004. She also won the 2009 Oldtime Spirit award at the Augusta Music Heritage Festival.

Carol is joined tonight by the esteemed fiddler Kerry Parker, Steven Strauss on stand up bass, and Jim Nelson on banjo.
