Caterina Lichtenberg & Mike MarshallTwo of the world's finest mandolinists, American Mike Marshall and Bulgarian Caterina Lichtenberg take us on a journey from Europe of the early 1700s through the great 19th Century Italian mandolin heyday to the shores of the present-day Americas.

The winner of numerous international music competitions, Bulgarian mandolinist Caterina, chair of the mandolin department at the music academy in Wuppertal, German, is a delight on stage with an elegance and beauty of sound that is only matched by her stunning virtuosity.

Bay Area mandolin virtuoso Mike is a leading proponent of an ebullient hybrid of folk-jazz-classical music. From his early groundbreaking work with the David Grisman Quintet to his founding of the Modern Mandolin Quartet, and his acclaimed collaboration with bluegrass whiz kid Chris Thile and Brazilian virtuoso Hamilton de Holanda, Mike explores his inspired musical vision across traditions and geography.

Not just two great musicians individually, Enjoy the Music describes the duo this way, "Mike Marshall is a jazz cat while Caterina Lichtenberg is classical kitten. Together they play classical pieces by Bach and Leclair with a jazz edge and contemporary Latin-American compositions from Bandolin and Zambrano with a classical flavor. For any mandolin fanatic, this one is essential listening." Do yourself a favor and hear the magic live.
