The San Francisco Chamber Orchestra's first-ever Composer in Residence, Gabriela Frank, is about to unveil her first major work for the SFCO: a new violin concerto composed for our own wonderful Robin Sharp. Hear Gabi and Robin talk about this exciting new work, and play excerpts from music no one has ever heard before. Gabi's powerful and dramatic compositions are gaining worldwide attention; here's your chance to see her up close and personal and hear the stories behind her fascinating music.

Classical at the Freight brings the Bay Area's best classical musicians to the Freight for an hour of top-flight chamber music in an informal, friendly atmosphere. San Francisco Chamber Orchestra music director Benjamin Simon is your host; his goal is to un-stuffify and de-mystify classical music for the general music lover, sharing the joys and rewards of this timeless art with new audiences young and old.
