Crooked Still
Saturday, November 21, 8:00 pm hot young alternative bluegrass group bending the boundaries of traditional music $18.50 advance / $19.50 at door Purchase tickets online November 21 8:00 pm
Bravura banjo player, Gregory Liszt (who recently toured as a member of Bruce Springsteen's Seeger Sessions Band) trades solos with youthful aces Tristan Clarridge (Darol Anger's Republic of Strings) on cello and Brittany Haas (Darol Anger, Yonder Mountain String Band) on fiddle, while the expressive, feathery voice of Aoife O'Donovan hangs above and Corey DiMario's double-bass grounds it all. Crooked Still has always dug deep into classics like "Darling Corey" and "Shady Grove" to reveal the brooding energy at the heart of the music while surprising listeners at every turn with their interplay and shifting harmonies. They recently released two new CDs, Still Crooked and Crooked Still Live (Signature Sounds), so expect plenty of groove-struck new gems tonight!
