With musical styles spanning acoustic folk to energetic rock to jazz, northern California native Dirk Hamilton, now living in Austin, Texas, captivates audiences with his soaring, smoky tenor, infectious melodies, uniquely intelligent lyrics and passionate performance style. Writing and performing since his teens, Dirk began producing music after his move to Los Angeles in the late 1970s. A prolific artist who has released 16 albums, Dirk's most recent collection is More Songs from My Cool Life. Lauded by Rolling Stone Magazine for his quirky style and riveting performances, he developed a huge following in Italy back in the 80s, and tours there annually with his Italian band.

Tonight Dirk appears with Gary Roda on lead guitar, Eric Westphal on bass, and Tim Seifert on drums. In intimate settings such as the Freight, his singing, guitar and harmonica-playing are absolutely spellbinding
