Singer-songwriter and winner of the prestigious New Folk award at the 2003 Kerrville Folk Festival, Vermont native Anais Mitchell performs distinctive, meticulously written songs, backed by Jefferson Hamer and Rachel Ries. With the sound of a world-weary waif, Anais' otherworldly voice is a striking counterpoint to the intensity of her lyrics, which fuse personal and political themes into vibrant, literate songs.
They brought the house down at their Freight debut last February as past of Dr. K's Homwegrown Roots Revue; now they're back to headline an evening of fabulous music! Called "One of the brightest new lights illuminating San Francisco's bluegrass music" by CBA's Bluegrass Breakdown, 49 Special's repertoire of great original songs reveals influences from country and blues, as well as from traditional and progressive bluegrass.
There will be some limited standing room only tickets available once the show starts at 8:00 pm for $25.50.
