Bryan approaches his teaching from the perspective of "Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach him to fish and he'll eat forever." In this hands-on workshop, the famed ‘ukulele player gives his students the concepts and ideas that allow them to think for themselves. Rather than simply learning a tune or two, students gain a basic knowledge of Hawaiian beginnings and endings, strums, and so on that will allow them to make any song their own.

*All levels of player are welcome to this workshop, but a knowledge of basic chords is helpful.

Bryan Tolentino is a self-taught ‘ukulele player who began playing the instrument at the tender age of 10. His early influences were the musical groups The Sons of Hawaii and The Sunday Manoa. After graduating from Saint Louis School in 1979, Bryan and some friends formed a musical group called The Side Order Band. Bryan's repertoire is a mixture of Hawaiian, contemporary, and original songs, blending creativity and diversity with the ‘ukulele.
