Come join us learn how to jam on mandolin. You will break down popular songs and fiddle tunes into chords, scales, rhythms, and melodies, and by doing so, you will begin to develop an ear for playing along with nearly any bluegrass song. Special tricks, like hammer-ons, slides, fills, and even solos, will be introduced. Bringing a sound recorder is a great idea, and your questions and input are encouraged. The only thing better than playing mandolin is jammin' on mandolin with your friends!

*This class is designed for beginning to intermediate mandolin players.

A well-known performer and music teacher, Alan Bond has performed in the Bay Area and beyond for over 35 years. He's a Monroe-style mandolinist—with original flair—who also enjoys the influences of blues, jazz, and swing. Guitar, violin, ukulele, and vocals are all part of his repertoire.
