Lisa FerraroLaunch the holiday celebrations in swinging style as we Jazz Up The Holidays! Dynamic vocalist Lisa Ferraro brings her powerful East Coast jazz style to Berkeley, performing a collection of sizzling arrangements of favorite songs by Grammy award-winning jazz arranger/composer Mike Tomaro. Like adding a shot of bourbon to a mug of hot cider, Lisa serves up classic Christmas tunes with plenty of sass and spirit, supported by piano marvel Tammy Hall and a seven-piece band with a powerful horn section.

Last seen on the Freight stage knocking 'em dead at Diva Night in July, Lisa returns to wow us with her stunning range and vocal agility. Straddling the pop and jazz music worlds, Lisa has performed and recorded with jazz legend Hendrick Merkins, Roger Humphries, and jazz pianist Julie Bonk. A truly versatile pianist active in the jazz, Brazilian, and classical music scenes, Tammy captivates listeners with her understated virtuosity. Kent Bryson on drums, trumpeter Mike Olmos, Sarah Cline on trombone, Kristen Strom on saxophones and flute, and bassist Sam Bevan all add their considerable gifts to the energized holiday sound.

Arranger/composer Mike Tomaro, the Director of Jazz Studies at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh since 1997, has worked with such diverse artists as Rosemary Clooney, Ray Charles, and the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra.
