Mountain Dulcimer 2 is designed for those with some familiarity on their instrument. We will explore scales, finger-dexterity exercises, chords and at least 2 tunings. New tunes will be presented each week in the chord-melody and cross-string techniques.

*Pre-requisites: comfort with tuning and tablature, some melody tune experience, understanding of fretting and basic strums, and a nodding acquaintance with chords.

Teacher, Deborah "DJ" Hamouris has played mountain dulcimer since 1979 and taught it for the past decade. She has a BA in Music and gets excited about teaching music both privately & in classes. DJ founded the East Bay Mountain Dulcimer Club in 2009: the current meeting schedule is on her website and Facebook fan page. She currently directs the women's singing group Women & Song and plays in a folk duo, The DulciMates, with husband Buffalo.
