Join us for the Jazzschool Institute vocal department’s end-of-semester performances. Under the direction of Laurie Antonioli, vocal performance students learn a broad range of styles, from “great American songbook” standards to bebop and beyond, developing a repertoire of 100 songs over the eight-semester course. Tonight you'll hear the fruits of their studies, including improvisation, phrasing, close harmony, the development of a personal voice—and some great tunes!
The Jazzschool Institute offers a conservatory program devoted to the study and performance of jazz and related styles of music, fostering the artistic development of aspiring professional jazz musicians and building new audiences to sustain and promote the jazz art form. The institute integrates a comprehensive, progressive undergraduate education program taught by world-class musicians and music educators, preparing the next generation for a fulfilling life in the dynamic world of the performing arts.
