If the Freight appears to be glowing with super-positive vibes it's probably because we're on a trip back in time with tonight's tour guides, Yardbirds tribute band The RaveUps.

Performing the bluesy psychedelic music of the Yardbirds in an earthy, organic mode, the RaveUps feature lead guitarist Chris Solberg (Santana, Eddie Money, Chris Isaak), bass player Kit Newkirk, singer/harmonica player Dave Seabury, rhythm guitarist Bob Lewis, and drummer Donn Spindt (of Rubinoo's fame).

Far from a Vegas-style impersonator band, this group of highly skilled and passionate musicians is dedicated to playing the hell out of the songs as they might have been performed by the original band in the nightclubs of England. From the hits "For Your Love" and "Heart Full of Soul" to the blues standard "I'm a Man," the RaveUps play high-energy renditions of classics from the British invasion band, recreating the spirit of their original free-flowing jams known as "raves."

We open with two teen-age groups—The Artificial Blondies and Aichy Pychi—who rock the house with songs from the 60's British Invasion as well as original compositions. As always, everyone 18 years and younger pays half price for show tickets!
