SVER play grand Norwegian folk music with relentless energy and seductive spark taking you on a fantastic musical journey guaranteed to excite you. Ranging from the very dreamy to a swinging, pounding and sweaty madness—you are invited to the party, greeted by a welcoming primal force that pulls you into the dance.

The trio tonight features Olav Luksengård Mjelva on hardangerfiddle & fiddle, Adam Johansson on guitar, and Jens Linell on tambourine.

Since forming in 2008, SVER has performed at festivals and venues across Europe, and Adam and Jens played the Freight Fiddle Summit last year alongside the other instructors at Alasdair Fraser’s Valley of the Moon fiddle camp. Recently the group has collaborated with Swedish dance hall artist Snakka San, and created the new genre “Folkhall”, playing in Scandinavia and have had multiple songs on the radio charts in Norway and Sweden.

The Scotsman says their album Fryd, “Inarguably lives up to its title, which means joy,” while FATEA Magazine says, “he music paints some wonderful pictures whilst defying you not to get up and dance.”

For a great night of adventurous Scandinavian folk music, catch SVER Trio at the Freight.
